LDO’s Cineworld in Wembley welcomes summer blockbusters
By London Designer Outlet
With summer now having firmly begun, the sunny weather is not the only reason to be feeling good when visiting the London Designer Outlet over the next couple of months. Now that Wembley has its own Cineworld thanks to LDO, visitors can check out the latest blockbusters whilst they shop, eat and drink. It’s been a great year for film so far, but it’s far from over! Here are a few of our picks:
After losing his job as a Chef, Carl Casper (Dustin Hoffman) aims to go back to his roots and start a food truck in a bid to find himself and piece back together his estranged family. Director Jon Favreau returns to the Swing Sixties in this delectable foodie comedy with a supporting cast that includes Robert Downey Jr and Scarlett Johansson.
22 Jump Street:
Undercover cops Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill return to the big screen ready to face a fresh challenge after their comedic rookie triumphs in 21 Jump Street. This time around the animated Captain Dickinson (Ice Cube) has sent the disjointed duo to college to investigate a campus drugs ring.
After receiving engine-damage the world-famous lovable racer Dusty Crophopper’s racing days look almost over. Seeking a fresh start, the determined hero joins an elite squad of aircraft firefighters who are tasked with protecting the historic Piston Peak National Park from a series of raging wildfires. The blazing fires are the last of Dusty’s problems as he must first earn the respect of fire-fighting veteran Blade Ranger, and deal with the dreamy gaze of air tanker Dipper who quickly takes a shining to the hero’s wings.
The Fault in Our Stars:
The adaptation of John Green’s heart-warming and intelligent bestselling novel, The Fault in Our Stars follows the relationship of two teenagers whose hearts found each other in the unlikeliest of places. After being diagnosed with cancer three years ago, Hazel (Shailene Woodly) is encouraged to attend a cancer support group where she soon finds a fond connection with the charming Augustus (Ansel Elgort) who has been in remission for 18 months with a prosthetic leg.
How to Train Your Dragon 2:
July will see Hiccup, Toothless and the rest of the dragon clan soaring into Cineworld in Wembley ready to take a new evil enemy. Since the last movie a lot has changed, with the iron-clad bearded Vikings now living peacefully alongside their not so ferocious winged neighbours. For our heroes Hiccup and Toothless, an adventure to a mysterious ice cave brings them face to face with the evil Drago Bludvist.
Transformers: Age of Extinction
The Autobots and Decepticons are back to wage war on earth for a record fourth time, and with Director Michael Bay at the helm it is guaranteed that very little will be left standing. Set years after the last battle of Chicago, humans are facing certain extinction from the new Dinobots, until Yeager (Mark Wahlberg) miraculously finds the haggard wreckage of old friend, Optimus Prime who is ready to turn the tables.
So there you have it – just a few ideas there to whet your cinematic whistle. If you’re visiting the London Designer Outlet this summer, Cineworld in Wembley has got a blockbuster to offer. Whether you’re seeking to dine and catch a movie, or if you want to give the kids a run around during the holidays, there will always be something for you.
