Didn’t it feel like just yesterday that Christmas was well and truly upon us, everyone was winding down for the holidays, and eating all of the comfort food you could get your hands on before sleeping all day was the best idea anyone ever had?

Well, 2017 has well and truly rolled around in spectacular fashion, with an amazing fireworks display on the River Thames to boot! And you know what that means… New Year, New You! January is the perfect time to shake off old cobwebs, turn over new leaves, and turn into the best possible version of yourself that you can be so you can take the year by storm!

That’s why we’re here to get you in the mood. Here’s the London Designer Outlet guide to getting in shape, feeling amazing, and making 2017 the best year yet.

Kick Start Your Fitness

A lot of people like to make New Years Resolutions relating to healthy living and fitness – and we don’t think it’s a bad idea! Getting in shape isn’t an easy quick fix, but there are some simple things you can do to really boost your fitness journey. First off, you can really push your everyday fitness by fitting exercise into your daily activities. Never, ever take the lift and you’ll get a short strength and cardio workout from climbing the stairs (that goes for climbing the escalators from the tube, too!). Always run for the bus – and better yet, get off one stop early to get a bit of power walking in. Ditch the car for short shopping trips – not only do you get a brisk walk to and from the supermarket, but carrying those bags will work wonders for your upper body strength.

You could also hire a personal trainer to work towards your goals with you, or try out a weekend fitness bootcamp or interval training. Real Healthy Food

We all like a McDonald’s or a takeaway every so often, but too much of it can get unhealthy – for both your body and your wallet! Cooking your own food at home is more cost-effective, more creative, and means you know exactly what’s gone into your meals – no hidden sugar, fat or salt! We recommend cooking up a big batch of food at the start of the week, then putting it into smaller containers in the fridge for packed lunches – it’s easy, quick, and cheap! Plus, where better to go for all the equipment for your new year’s cooking endeavours than ProCook?

When cooking your own meals, you can make even more good choices by eating brown bread, rice and pasta, replacing sweet snacks with fruit and vegetables, and drinking water wherever possible instead of other drinks like coffee or fizzy pop. You’ll feel lighter, less sluggish, and more motivated each morning – without the typical mid-afternoon post-lunch slump. Bonus!

Have you gone into battle on the high street this year for the -- shudder -- January Sales yet? Did you find clothes in the wrong sizes, miniscule reductions, and crowds as far as the eye could see? Whether it’s Credit Cards, a Personal Loan, or your utility bills, it’s worth getting your head around everything coming in and going out to see if you can save some serious cash!

Make sure you’re getting the best deal for all of your utilities, like gas, electricity, phone and broadband, and your car or home insurance. Chances are, if you’ve been with a certain company for a long time, you’ll be paying far more than you could be – companies tend to bank on the fact that customers won’t change their suppliers for the sake of convenience. As a result, if you were just to call up your providers for different services and threaten to leave, they could very well offer you a better deal on the spot!
