The Best Things To Do Over Easter

By London Designer Outlet

Easter is almost upon us. The clocks have gone forwards, the days are getting longer, the trees are starting to blossom, and there’s an unmistakeable presence of weird and wonderful chocolate treats in shops everywhere. Of course, this also means one thing for kids and students too – Easter holidays! And we definitely have no shortage of activities to fill your two week Spring break with Easter fun!

Iconic London

London is a complex, sprawling, multicultural, awe-inspiring metropolis of a city, and we absolutely love it. As such, we would like to welcome you to the London Designer Outlet celebration of all the city’s rich heritage and quirky capacities: Iconic London.

This absolutely FREE event takes place over Easter weekend, from the 14th to the 17th of April, and will see Wembley transformed into a festival of all things capital city. Her Majesty the “other” Queen and her Royal Beefeaters will be gracing LDO with their presence, and may even offer a seldom-allowed photo opportunity with her royal subjects! If you can snap Her Royal “Other” Highness on one of the days, take to social media and share with the hashtag #HelloHRH, you’ll get the chance to win a whopping £100 shopping voucher! That should help fix up your Spring wardrobe!

Alongside this royal addition will be an exhibition of miniature London buses from the Routemaster to… well… the New Routemaster. We’ll be celebrating the “Year of the Bus,” and featuring works by creative legends, including designer Orla Kiely and artist Anna Benson. But that’s not the only iconic form of transport in the Big Smoke – we’ve also got our Black Cab Karaoke Photobooth, a chance to test The Knowledge of your favourite song lyrics and capture the fun with your friends to keep forever.

As well as all of this London-centric brilliance, our fabulous face painters will adorn little ones with the most strikingly iconic “London” designs, including landmarks, views, and attractions. A quintessentially British brass band will provide the most excellent musical backdrop to the entire celebration – they’ll really get your toes tapping!

Become An Inventor

Do you fancy yourself the next Einstein, Edison or Tesla? Well, ProCook are looking for enthusiastic inventors to design a band new kitchen gadget – as long as you’re under 16, that is! (Sorry parents!)

Kids can get involved from April 1st to April 17th, submitting their best, weirdest, coolest or downright craziest designs to ProCook at the London Designer Outlet. The best gadget, as judged by none other than the manager of the LDO store himself, will win an Easter egg making kit and an Easter egg, before going on to take on other UK winners in a search to find the overall UK winner – judged by the bosses at ProCook!

The Overall UK Winner will win a top prize of a 10-piece Gourmet Steel cookware set and a 6-piece Professional X50 knife set, worth a whopping £354! Perfect for cooking that inevitable Easter Sunday Roast!

Become A Chocolatier

You know you’ve always wanted to do this! My Chocolate in De Beauvoir Town are getting fully into the Easter spirit with a special workshop perfect for all chocolate lovers. Attendees will be taught to make weird and wacky chocolate creations out of molten chocolate, using dipping forks to create marbled effects. Interspersed with a short (but delicious) chocolate history lesson, you’ll be encouraged to dip and decorate your quirky Easter creations using dark chocolate ganache, milk chocolate fudge and bowls of melted chocolate. Workshops take place at 11am and 3pm each day.

Go Hunting For Moomins

Easter egg hunting not your thing? Or have you just done too much of it this year? Why not try hunting for something else? From April 1st to 17th, Kew Gardens will play host to Moomin Adventures, an interactive, Moomin-themed Easter festival that’s brimming with all kinds of activities. The Moomin trail inspires children to connect with nature, on a mission through the gardens to retrieve missing Moomin plants, culminating in the Moomin Festival Camp, an activity area featuring all manner of workshops, including den building, planting their own courgettes to take home and care for, Moomin storytelling, Moomin mask making and a Moomin tea party. They can also visit the Travelling Herbarium where they can report their marvellous botanical findings and collect a reward from a real life Moomin character!

Celebrate 100 Years of Disney Magic

A treat on ice for the whole family, experience the wonder of 100 Years of Magic when Disney on Ice skates into the SSE Wembley Arena. Over 50 unforgettable Disney characters, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and Disney Princesses including the much sought-after Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Featuring over 30 outstanding singalong Disney songs, including old favourites “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got A Friend In Me,” and “Hakuna Matata,” the whole family will be singing, clapping, and cheering along to favourites old and new. From March 29th to April 2nd, 100 Years of Magic is bringing this captivating experience to the SSE Arena, and it’s definitely something you and the family do not want to miss.

So, whatever you and the family get up to this Easter break, there’s a plethora of things to do – not least of which popping into the London Designer Outlet for a bit of quick shopping (Lindt, anyone?), a bite to eat, or the latest cinematic blockbuster. We’ll see you there!
