Samba & Savings: Summer Carnival at LDO
By London Designer Outlet
It’s summer. It’s hot. You and/or your children are on holiday. What to do? Well, as we Londoners know, there isn’t much better to do at this time of year than going to a good old-fashioned carnival. Fans of percussion, dressing up, and generally wondering around socialising and having a good time will be happy to note that LDO is having a Summer Carnival between Saturday 30th July and Sunday 7th August 2016. Oh, and entry is free, too. You can register your interest in attending here.
So, what’s going on at LDO in Wembley over its very own carnival season? As you can imagine, lots! We have lots of super salsa shows going on, so get on down and feel free to strut your stuff. Should you and your little ones feel extra musical, then there’s a steel drum band to get in the groove with. They’re also giving steel drum lessons for kids, so by the end of the day they’ll hopefully have learnt a 4/4 beat and begin their musical journey.
As is usual for carnivals, there are also craft classes and workshops for headdress making. A proper way of getting into the carnival spirit, and also a great way of meeting others. Also, it’s a brilliant way to get prepared for other festivals or carnivals like Notting Hill – no need to rush around looking for that perfect costume ensemble any more! Of course, this is a carnival, so you can bet that there will be face painting, too.
As this is a carnival, you can expect some staged entertainment to go on top of all the rest of the day’s entertainment. We have live music in the evenings, as well as Britain’s Got Talent’s hula hoop dance sensation Lisa Sampson. You might just well see her pull off some new or classic routines!
Oh, and LDO will also be having a beach over Carnival week! OK, it’s not a literal beach, but a giant green screen photo booth. Oh, and an absolutely radical surf simulator, so you get the chance to hit some beach-style breaks and get the feeling of a surfboard beneath your feet. Great fun for all the family, and a fantastic way to learn some surfing basics, too.
Of course, this is LDO, so on top of all the fun things going on at the Carnival and Wembley at large, we have all the usual amazing deals on eating out, clothing, and lots more. Plus, if it gets too hot outside, you can come in and grab a juice or a coffee in a nice, air-conditioned environment. You can grab yourself and a pair of comfortable, high-quality shorts, too!
Should the Carnival not sate your need for a good time out (or you just need a good place to put your feet up after being on them all day), then there’s also a Cineworld Cinema and a variety of restaurants – all open till late – to go to.
So if you’re looking for something to keep yourself or your children occupied over the summer, come on down to LDO Carnival and have a truly great time. Hope to see you soon!
