LDO signs up to the UK’s first accessible shopping day

LDO (London Designer Outlet) is set to take part in the UK’s first day dedicated to accessible shopping on Tuesday 13th November 2018.

‘Purple Tuesday’ will see stores at LDO join in with retailers across the country to introduce new measures and promote existing measures that make the shopping experience more inclusive for disabled customers.

The initiative is being co-ordinated by the disability organisation Purple and has been endorsed by the government.

LDO is already home to a Changing Places facility, disabled toilets, shopmobility services as well as a Cineworld that offers Autism Screenings.

Nearby Red Car Park has ample disabled parking and the centre offers easy access throughout with every store accessible and escalators and lifts available to every floor.

Nearly one in every five people in the UK has a disability or impairment, and over half of households have a connection to someone with a disability.

The aim of Purple Tuesday is to make customer-facing businesses more aware of these opportunities and challenges and inspire them to make changes to improve the disabled customer experience over the long term. By taking part in this initiative we pledge to continue to think about the disabled customer journey at all times and improve our service in accordance with this.

Guests looking for information or advice on disabled facilities at LDO’s 70 shops and restaurants can visit LDO Guest Services next to Clarks Outlet.
