Since 2021, we’ve been proud to champion and work with London based women’s refuge Solace Women’s Aid as one of our charity and training partners.
Solace is a leading specialist charity in the UK, supporting women and children experiencing domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Each year, Solace provides life-saving services to nearly 20,000 women, children, and young people. From safe refuge to counselling and advocacy, Solace offers the tools and resources needed to build safe, independent lives.

‘In their shoes’
For over 5 years, LDO’s ‘In their shoes’ partnership with the Solace has provided over 1,000 pairs of footwear and essential household items to the charity, supporting their vital work.
LDO was proud to reintroduce the ‘in their shoes’ initiative for the back to school season this year. For every pair of school shoes purchased during the school holidays, LDO helped to fund a second pair, donated directly to Solace Women’s Aid, helping children in refuge feel ready to take their next steps with pride.

#IseeMaya
London Designer Outlet was proud to support Solace’s #IseeMaya campaign at Christmas, hosting a special Christmas tree lighting event featuring the ‘Tree of Soles’, symbolising the women and children currently in refuge. A local choir added to the festive atmosphere, with guests donating generously to Solace.

Invisible figures
In Summer 2026, we commissioned artist Bhawana Jain to be inspired by the work of Solace to create a large-scale artwork based on the theme “What does someone carry that isn’t visible?
A multidisciplinary artist from India, her work captures a moment where she felt freedom – to exist beyond the expectations that often shape women’s lives.
Bhawana is one of two artists commissioned to produce large-scale artworks, transforming one of LDO’s busiest public spaces into an open-air gallery.
